Bryce Canyon Half: 1:28 Provo Canyon Half: 1:30 Short-Term Running Goals: I missed it again! In shooting for my first sub three marathon, I came across the St. George Utah Marathon finish line at 3:05:05! So a few things I learned. 1) I need to be at 60 miles a week for at least four weeks leading up to the race. 2) Don't injure myself 3) Carry my own GU 4) Hydrate better on the days leading up to the race 5) Stop showing up 5 minutes late to everything "Where else does this show up in your life?" The good news...I haven't been late to anything since the marathon. My boss really likes the new me!
Long-Term Running Goals: Stay healthy and enjoy running.
Personal: My wife is Yogirunner mom. She is amazing. We have two wonderful daughters. |

| | Just another three to see how my shins would do running two days in a row. I can feel my shins, but I am icing them and taking Ibuprofen. Let's hope for the best

| | Ran my wife's 5 mile route. 3050, red cliffs, Arctic Circle, back on 40 N. Shins did well for my first "long" run in 4 weeks |

| | Another 5, ran in my Saucanys to protect my shins, since they are more padded than my Brooks. Felt good. exciting! |

| | Ran with my wife. Works out great to run with her on my way back to my usual training speed. I love being able to run with my wife. Great to have a "date" before the kids are even up and the day is even started. |

| | Wahoo! 7 again. My shins felt fine. I do feel them kind of flare up at about one mile. After that they chill out and I can run comfortably the rest of the time. |

| | After my special event at work I did not get to bed until midnight. So I got up an hour later and split my planned 10 miler into a 5 mile morning run and a 5 mile evening run. Both runs were in 90 degrees! 6:30 a.m. 90° / 8:30 p.m. 90°. I listened to actual music today. I have been listening to conference talks and an audio book for the last year and I forgot how motivating it is to run to motivating music! |

| | Did a couple of Tempo miles to see how my shins would respond to my marathon pace. Felt great. I just got some compression socks that I wore after the run, for the rest of the day. I think they helped a lot! |

| | I have been running a 9:30 pace with my wife. Figured I better cut loose on my own and kick my cardio up a notch. I have lost some in my effort to lay off my shins. Felt great. Legs are fine. I am encouraged. Planning for 15 on the St. George Marathon course Friday morning. |
